Preparing for Travel and Some Reflections

Buon giorno,  Two more days til flight out of SFO.  I am hoping I get a boarding pass with "Pre-check" on it so I can leave a bit later Friday morning for the airport.  The airporter is now $22 one way.  I have packed some US dollars in my money belt to have $23 cash plus tip for the bus when I come back home on the 27th.  That being said, it is a weird feeling to be getting so close to leaving.  Always last minute stuff...I am trying to stay relaxed, but the stress is hanging  around too.  I day dream about what I will be doing so I can imagine what I will be wearing.  Italy is fashion conscious, as is place like Paris, etc.  One can't really expect to blend in, so I don't go all crazy about it, but I do like to have a modicum of style.  Not easy to do.  I remember buying a dress on the island of Crete back in the 60's so I would look local....ha!  no chance.  But all my travels have been quite positive, so I will always want to take a chance that people are basically good and even kind wherever you go.

Hmm time for a photo.  What will give a sense of the now?  My yoga teacher is inspiring and I am re-learning important lessons that I used to know when I was just out of college back in the late 60's.  But family upbringing is stronger than many paths of learning.  I am my mother's daughter.(was that the 70's?)  Sometimes I feel enlightened, but not so much really.  I feel confident much of the time, but very glad I can laugh at foibles.  They seem to increase with age.

Wow.  can't get more now than now. 3:57pm in my "office"/collection room.  I don't think I have ever used the camera on this laptop.  Wow again.  

Thanks to Ruth for stopping by yesterday.   Tomorrow is coffee with the gang at Rulli's after the walking group.  Then lunch with Megan, Dave's girlfriend. Victoria and I are to meet for a berra (Italian for beer) after she comes back from work in the city.  Rean is at her place down in Los Osos.  Arlyn is busy taking care of Hector.  Elenor is coming for tea Thursday before we need to get children at Cove School at 3. 

There is no internet at the retreat next week.  We do go out on a couple of days, to Casperia, Orvieto, and Assisi.   I can send text for free, so you may get some photos from the In Sabine retreat area.

2017 I'm back!

From 2013 in France to today, July 27, 2017 is a big jump.  Since I am planning a trip to Italy, I thought I might start blogging again.  First, however, we are going to a family reunion at Sunriver Resort in Oregon.  It is a small group of Lindgren relatives.  My grandfather, Swan Magnus Lindgren from Sweden, married Mabel Claudiana Johnson, a Dane.  My mother, Alma Nelsina Lindgren was their second child born, 1914.  It is a nice place and we will meet up with cousins.  We were there in 2010 for the last reunion.
The September visit begins just north of Rome as a Yoga Retreat the first week.  Second week and part of another week will be to explore the famous HILL TOWNS of Tuscany and Umbria, with some in Lazio which is the Sabine Hills where the retreat is located.  Beautiful views and food is a focus!  Hoping to meet friendly folks in some of the smaller villages.
